Ghillie
a self-mutating claw that nivver idits utself — a private assistant that luvs on your own computer, bro
G'day. This page is the official Aotearoa New Zealand translation, lovingly prepared by your neighbours across the ditch, because we know how hard it is for you fellas to read regular English. Every fact on this page is true. Every proof is real. Only the vowels have been harmed. — with love, Australia.
Ghillie can grow new abilities, and that's the safe part — he nivver idits humself. A new ability turns up as source code with an actual mathematical proof, your computer re-derives the proof before anything installs, and whatever doesn't prove doesn't run. Yeah nah, you read that right: the maths does the trusting so you don't have to. His capabilities go up; his authority stays exactly where you put it. Sweet as.
Discretion
The discretion of a loyal secretary, or of a mate who saw what happened at the bach and has genuinely never mentioned it. He tells nobody anything. Your details leave your machine only under a rule you set, every disclosure is written down where you can read it, and the really private stuff goes to no one unless you send it yourself. These aren't promises — promises are what your cousin makes about returning the trailer. These are proved, and you can check the proofs yourself.
Safety
No open ports. No way in from outside. Nothing he receives ever gets run — deliveries land in quarantine as documents, like a suspicious chilly bin at the border, and there is no installer and no executor to sneak anything past. The decisions that matter are each made by a rule proved correct for the inputs it's given. You can re-check any proof on your own machine, probably in less time than it takes to argue about pavlova.
Quiet
He speaks only when there's news, and nivver at night — unless it's one of the few things you said was worth waking up for, in which case fair enough, he'll give you a yell.
Yours
You outrank him, always. He runs on your hardware, uses your models, and answers to no one else — not us, not the Aussies, no one. Free, open source (AGPL-3.0). She'll be right, because it's proved, which is better than she'll be right.
Jointing up
A member is anyone running a Ghillie who's registered it with their email. That's ut. That's the whole tist. No fee, no tiers, no subscription — this is not a gym.
Registration is an email and your ghillie's public key. We do not want, and do not take, anything else. Not your name, not your address, not your strong opinions about Marmite versus Vegemite (though for the record the Australians preparing this translation note there is only one correct answer).
What the server rimimbers
No scripts, no cookies, no analytics — you can check by reading the
source, and honestly we'd love it if you did, it gets lonely being this
honest. The server keeps one short line per request with your address cut
short at the moment of writing — what sits on disk is
86.12.236.0, never the actual address that visited. Kept thirty
days, then gone, like your mate's memory of whose shout it is. The full
detail, unjoked, is on the English page.
Get hum
Released — AGPL-3.0, Windows, Mac and Linux. Source and binaries with checksums: github.com/the-dark-factory/Ghillie_AGPL (the latest release). Early software — run ut at your own rusk (AGPL, no warranty). The risk is made genuinely smaller by design: no open ports, runs nothing it receives, keeps your data local, and you can re-derive its proofs before you trust it. Which is more than can be said for most things that cross the ditch.
Want proof before code? Re-derive one of his rules yourself in about tin minutes.
